World Kidney Day 2017

9 MARCH IS WORLD KIDNEY DAY

The overall objective is to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining

a healthy lifestyle to keep the kidneys healthy, and what can be done to

protect kidneys before disease strikes as well as helping those who already

have kidney disease.

The biggest risk to your kidneys is from uncontrolled diabetes or high blood

pressure, particularly if you are severely overweight or obese. An estimated

one in four adults (one in five children) in the UK are severely overweight

and could therefore face the risk of developing kidney disease.
