Dr David Haslam is a GP with a special interest in obesity and cardiometabolic disease, Physician in Obesity Medicine at the Centre for Obesity Research at Luton & Dunstable Hospital, and Clinical Director of the National Obesity Forum (NOF) in the
UK. He took charge of formulating the guidelines for adult obesity management in primary care and produced the first Primary Care guidelines for management of childhood obesity with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
He is Chair of the charity Foundations, a Director of PCOS
UK, a member of the Counterweight Board, Visiting Lecturer at
Chester
University and Visiting Fellow at the Postgraduate Medical School of Herts & Beds.
David has articles widely published in journals and papers and speaks internationally on obesity and related diseases. His books include 'Your Questions Answered- Obesity' in the popular YQA series, and his next major work is a book on the history of obesity, gluttony and sloth, due to be published in 2008. |
